Hougan

Matt Hougan

Officer Hougan’s law enforcement career began at the University of Cincinnati where he completed undergraduate work with a degree in Criminal Justice in 1995. He was sworn in as a patrolman by the City of Strongsville, Ohio in March of 1999. While in Strongsville, Officer Hougan focused his efforts on criminal patrol, drug interdiction and community oriented policing. Officer Hougan served in the Ohio National Guard from 1992 until 1998 with the 1193rd Combat Engineers. There he received the Ohio Army Commendation award for his service at the Lucasville prison riot and was later named Soldier of the Year for his unit. Officer Hougan is a dedicated father of three and a husband of 12 years. He is an active member of Far Hills Community Church. In his spare time, Officer Hougan is passionate about hunting and fishing with his friends and family. Officer Hougan is also dedicated to professionalism, compassion, honor and integrity in policing.
